  1. One can obtain residency in Dubai if sponsorship by an employer is provided. The Dubai residence visa must be renewed every three years. Another way to obtain residency in Dubai is by purchasing real estate. Once a person obtains residency, he or she will also be allowed to open a bank account in Dubai

  2. UAE residence visa is a permit that allows foreign people to live in the country for a long period of time. The visa can be valid for 2-3 or even 10 years and maybe renewed as many times as a person needs

  3. You can buy property in Dubai in joint ownership and still get residency. There are a few conditions to be met though. If you buy a jointly owned property with your wife/ husband and the total value of purchase is AED 1m, you can get residency (attested marriage certificate to be attached)

  4. It currently takes from about 10 days to three weeks to process a residence visa, and it can be more. How quick it is depends on whether you're in a free zone (where it's faster) or whether you're at a standard company overseen by the Ministry of Labour (where the wait time is longer)

  5. For one year, the UAE Residence Visa fee is AED100. Additionally, you will also have to pay a processing fee which also changes depending on where you apply, which can range from AED70 if applying in person or AED40 if applying online

  6. UAE Work Visa, which is issued to foreigners who have found employment in the UAE and obtained a Work Permit

  7. UAE Student Visa, which is issued for foreign nationals who have been accepted into a UAE educational institution

  8. UAE Family Visa, which is issued to the close family members of UAE citizens or foreign residents

  9. UAE Investment Visa (long-term residence), which is issued to foreign nationals who make a substantial investment in the UAE. This type of visa is issued for a longer duration than other types of residence visas (up to ten years)

  10. UAE Retirement Visa, which is issued to elderly foreigners who want to retire in the UAE and have the necessary financial means to do so
