How to get a Residence Permit in Greece

Residence Permit Greece

  1. EU/EEA citizens do not require a work or residence permit to live and work in Greece. They can enter Greece with a valid identity card or passport, regardless of the planned duration of their stay.

  2. For Non Eu Citizens a Greek permanent residency can be given by investment (Golden Visa). By investing 250.000 € or more in Greece you can become a permanent resident.

  3. The residence permit is valid as long as you own the property.

  4. After 5 years the residence permit must be renewed.

  5. Children under 21 years of age, parents, spouse or partner with a co-habitation agreement (concluded in Greece) and in-laws of the main investor can benefit from the same investment of 500.000 euros and above and issue a permanent European residence permit also.

  6. According to article 20 of Law 4251/2014 (Immigration Code), citizens of third countries (non-EU) who are economically independent persons are eligible to obtain a residence permit in Greece if they have sufficient resources at a fixed annual income level to cover their living expenses, without having any work or independent economic or investment activity in Greece (high income pensioners etc.).
